First Prenatal Appointment

We saw Dr. Kintner on Wednesday at our 8 week appointment. It was Tucker's first time meeting him, and they got along perfectly. They even talked about guns and scopes and Tucker really likes him :) The staff was also really friendly with Tucker too which was nice because Tucker's dad-to-be book mentions that usually the Dr. and their staff don't really talk much to the Dad since it isn't really "his" appointment.

Well after going over a lot of little information and then some questions Dr. Kintner brought out a doppler to listen for the baby's hearbeat but after trying unsuccessfully for a few mintues, he decided to just bring in the ultrasound machine so we could see the baby and make sure everything looked fine.

The baby was right there in it's little sac, and it's hearbeat was flickering away. It was so amazing to see our little one together for the first time and know that everything is ok right now! I know that I love our baby already but it was just this wave of happiness that came over me when I saw it on the screen! Going off of the start of my last menstrual cycle we should be 8 weeks but looking at the baby's size on the ultrasound my Dr. thinks that we may be a few days shy of 8 weeks. Since it's so early on in our pregnancy a few days make a huge difference in the baby's size and being able to hear the heartbeat!

Our next appointment is on March 17, and we will be around 12 weeks then, we will do another in office ultrasound and will hopefully be able to catch it on our Flip video.

  1. I am so excited for you guys! Seeing your baby for the first time makes everything real! It is crazy that you can love something so small so very much! Just wait until your next appointment when you guys hear the heart beat, you will cry (I still cry every time I hear it and we are almost 7 months along)! Congrats you guys!!!
