First Prenatal Appointment
We saw Dr. Kintner on Wednesday at our 8 week appointment. It was Tucker's first time meeting him, and they got along perfectly. They even talked about guns and scopes and Tucker really likes him :) The staff was also really friendly with Tucker too which was nice because Tucker's dad-to-be book mentions that usually the Dr. and their staff don't really talk much to the Dad since it isn't really "his" appointment.
Well after going over a lot of little information and then some questions Dr. Kintner brought out a doppler to listen for the baby's hearbeat but after trying unsuccessfully for a few mintues, he decided to just bring in the ultrasound machine so we could see the baby and make sure everything looked fine.
The baby was right there in it's little sac, and it's hearbeat was flickering away. It was so amazing to see our little one together for the first time and know that everything is ok right now! I know that I love our baby already but it was just this wave of happiness that came over me when I saw it on the screen! Going off of the start of my last menstrual cycle we should be 8 weeks but looking at the baby's size on the ultrasound my Dr. thinks that we may be a few days shy of 8 weeks. Since it's so early on in our pregnancy a few days make a huge difference in the baby's size and being able to hear the heartbeat!
Our next appointment is on March 17, and we will be around 12 weeks then, we will do another in office ultrasound and will hopefully be able to catch it on our Flip video.

Happy Valentine's Day
It was a wonderful Valentine's Day for the three of us. I slept really well, woke up and made cinnamon rolls for breakfast for Tucker (and snagged a few for me), work wasn't too bad, had yummy zucchini bread thanks to Suzy and then had an awesome night with my hubby! Tucker and I exchanged gifts and he bought me the Flip video, which I was so excited about and so not expecting. Then we went out for sushi; had a few pregnancy safe rolls, edemame and gyoza! It was a perfect night topped off with a few good TV shows when we got home.
Can't wait for our first appointment with my OBGYN and to test out my new Flip! Hopefully I can figure out how to upload a video :)

Morning Sickness
I was really hoping I was going to be one of those lucky pregnant women with the perfect skin, and hair, and no morning sickness. But today reality set in. What I thought was just a car sick feeling turned in to "move out of the way now, I am going to be sick" in a matter of hours. I am really hoping that this morning sickness is easy on me but we'll see because most women in my family are pretty sick and I think I may join them in our family tradition. On a good note we only have 16 days till our appointment with my doctor!

Greatest Deal Ever
As many of you know I really would like to breastfeed and I hope baby Huey and I are successful at it! We have been doing lots of research on the best pumps, and then out of nowhere I found a post on a message board I frequent, that Medela Freestyle breast pumps were on clearance at Target! So Tucker and I drove down to Roseville to begin our hunt! We went to 4 different Targets and they were either sold out or at regular price. So we decided it just wasn't meant to be. Then I saw another post on the message board last night where a woman told me step by step how to get the breast pump at clearance price, and guess what? It worked! So I bought the breast pump for $94, instead of $379!!!! I am so excited and cannot wait to try out my pump once baby Huey is here!

We're Expecting!
After much thought, lots of planning and a year of marriage we decided to try and start our family. It took us a few months, because someone (not naming names) was a tad crazy and couldn't relax. But, on January 17 we found out that we are expecting our first child due Sept. 28, 2011! We couldn't be more excited and cannot wait to see our little one on February 16th at our first prenatal appointment with Dr. Kintner. All of my bloodwork has shown that we are progressing as we should be and everything seems right on track.
Fun fact: At 5 weeks our baby is the length of the tip of a pen and growing like a weed!
